Founded in 1663, Carolina, included modern day Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, North and South Carolina and even the Bahamas. In 1712, Carolina split to form North and South Carolina which became Royal colonies. Blackbeard even called the Carolina's home before he was captured. In 1861, North and South Carolina became republics when they seceded from the Union. Today, the Carolina's are known for being the First in Flight, scenic beaches, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Pepsi and of course Tobacco Road.
